Gabriela Love is the Senior Lead Planning Engineer with Newcrest, responsible for the strategic planning for the Lihir Gold Operations in Papua and New Guinea. Although based in Melbourne she travels to site on a regular basis.
Gabriela has a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) from Sydney University and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia.Recently Gabriela has completed the Company Directors Course through the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
During her 25 year career she has worked in WA, Qld, NSW and overseas and worked in the gold, copper and coal industry. She has driven dump trucks, worked as a drillers’ offsider, a shot-firer and a surveyor. Her expertise is in mine planning and pit optimisation for open cut mines.
She is an active advocate for women in mining sitting on the board for the Women in Resources Victoria as well as on the Minerals Council Gender Diversity Reference Group. She is the newest board member of the Ethan Reynolds Foundation.
Gabriela is married with three grown children, speaks fluent Spanish and enjoys attending concerts and recreational running.
